Regenosca closes CHF 1 million pre-seed round to demonstrate endoscopic delivery of TissueSpan implants.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lausanne, Switzerland – July 22, 2024 – Regenosca creates unique bio-implants,
\nenabling the body to attract and organise its own cells for seamless healing. Providing a
\ntemporary, naturally absorbed bridge, the TissueSpan technology replaces diseased tissue
\nand restores patients to full health.<\/p>\n

With access to markets worth up to $5bn annually for Regenosca\u2019s regenerative medicine
\nplatform, the initial application is urethral stricture (narrowing), affecting up to a million
\npatients a year in the U.S. The current gold-standard procedure involves open surgery and
\nthe harvesting of a patient’s own inner mouth tissue for grafting. Simpler endoscopic
\ntreatments have up to 80% failure rates. The company has already performed human trials
\nwith perfect regrowth of the patients\u2019 own tissue.<\/p>\n

Regenosca has successfully raised CHF 1 million from private investors, Business Angels
\nSwitzerland, and Venture Kick. \u201cThis funding will allow us to demonstrate endoscopic
\ndelivery of TissueSpan\u201d, said Eva-Maria Balet, CEO and co-founder. \u201cThis new approach
\nwill revolutionise the treatment of urethral stricture. An off-the-shelf implant instead of the
\npatient\u2019s own tissue. A simple endoscopic procedure instead of complex open surgery.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prof Philippe S\u00e8be, urologist at H\u00f4pitaux Universitaires Gen\u00e8ve (HUG) and clinical
\ndevelopment partner with Regenosca on the endoscopic technology, emphasises:
\n\u201cTissueSpan implants represent a great opportunity, opening up a significant new area of
\ndevelopment in urethral repair surgery.\u201d<\/p>\n

Preclinical data and successful completion of the first human trials show promising market
\ntraction, winning awards at the three biggest urology conferences globally: the European
\nAssociation of Urology, the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Internationale d\u2019Urologie, and the American Urological
\nAssociation.<\/p>\n
