FROM BENCH TO BEDSIDE – A bioengineered collagen implant for urethral stricture repair

This summer we have achieved a significant milestone for our company Regenosca SA: we have successfully implanted our bioengineered collagen implant into the first two patients!

We are proud to have gone all the way from the first research in the laboratory of Prof Peter Frey (EPFL Switzerland) and Prof. Jeffrey Hubbell (EPFL, Switzerland; University Chicago, US) to product development and manufacturing in close collaboration with the University of Malaya (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), University of Malaya Medical Center (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), CHUV (Lausanne, Switzerland), University Putra (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), Biofactory Competence Center (Fribourg, Switzerland) to the approval and start of a first-in-man study at the University Malaya Medical Center with Prof Ong and Dr. Saiful Azli (consultant Urologist, Ministry of Health, Malaysia).
